According to news sources, a man was shot on the Interstate 10 freeway today, resulting in the complete closure of all westbound lanes on the freeway between California and Alabama.
Drivers were stuck in heavy traffic when Redlands Police and California Highway Patrol responding to a reported shooting on the Interstate 10 closed off westbound lanes to investigate the incident.
The police were reportedly responding to a report they received about a victim being shot next to the gas station at the California exit.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his gun shot wound. He reportedly underwent surgery this morning and is reportedly in stable condition.
The police and the highway patrol re-opened the closed off lanes less than an hour later. They are currently continuing the search for the suspect.
