Shooting On Freeway Injures One Comments Off

According to news sources, a man was shot on the Interstate 10 freeway today, resulting in the complete closure of all westbound lanes on the freeway between California and Alabama.

Drivers were stuck in heavy traffic when Redlands Police and California Highway Patrol responding to a reported shooting on the Interstate 10 closed off westbound lanes to investigate the incident.

The police were reportedly responding to a report they received about a victim being shot next to the gas station at the California exit.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his gun shot wound. He reportedly underwent surgery this morning and is reportedly in stable condition.

The police and the highway patrol re-opened the closed off lanes less than an hour later. They are currently continuing the search for the suspect.

Teenage Girls In Serious Injury Car Crash Comments Off

Two 16-year-old girls were seriously injured after their vehicle swerved out of control and veered off the road, according to news sources.

The girls were traveling in a Toyota on Balfour Road when according to a California Highway Patrol officer their car veered off of the roadway.

The driver, a 16-year-old resident of Brentwood, reportedly attempted to gain back control of her vehicle but instead ended up crossing through both directions of traffic before finally hitting a pole.

The driver of the vehicle reportedly sustained serious head injuries and broken bones. The passenger suffered reported broken bones as well as possible internal injuries. Both were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Truck Collision Causes Major Delays Comments Off

A big rig truck has collided with three other vehicles on Interstate 580, causing major delays, according to news sources.

Witnesses have reportedly told the California Highway Patrol that the big rig driver was on the right hand lane when he started sliding leftwards, striking a Mazda to his right and then crashing into two other vehicles on the left lanes.

The collision with the truck caused the Mazda to break away from the road and crash into a BART track. The vehicle was not on the track. The accident caused delays to the train schedule since trains were restricted to use just one track.

The driver of the big rig truck was seriously injured in the crash and transported to an area hospital. Two other people were treated for minor injuries.

Woman Dies In Fatal Alpine Car Crash Comments Off

According to news sources, an 84-year-old woman was killed Thursday in a car crash near Alpine Boulevard.

According to a California Highway Patrol officer the woman was driving a 2005 Ford Focus and reportedly making a turn outside of a private driveway. The turn caused her to be in the path of an incoming Ford pickup truck, which collided with her vehicle.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 45-year-old man, reportedly tried to swerve and avoid collision with the vehicle however was unsuccessful and collided with the car.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

CHP Revised Findings In Cycling Accident Comments Off

According to news sources, the California Highway Patrol has revised its findings in an accident that occurred almost a year ago between a big rig and a cyclist.

Border Crossing Collapse Injures 11 Comments Off

According to news sources, traffic at the San Ysidro crossing between San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico slowed down immensely as a result of a structural collapse that injured 11 people.

The busiest border crossing in the U.S was reportedly ground to a halt after construction on a section of scaffold designed to keep cars safe from overhead construction collapsed. The collapse reportedly covered 15 vehicles directly underneath it in debris, leaving 10 travelers with minor injuries and a construction worker suffering from major injuries.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic has reportedly resumed at a snails pace a day after the incident, with only 13 of the 24 vehicle lanes re-opened.

Investigators from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration were investigating the cause of the incident.

Driver Smashes Car Into Bicycle Store Comments Off

According to news sources, an 86-year-old woman drove her car into a bicycle store in Southern California, injuring three people who were inside the store at the time of the incident.

The woman had apparently hit the gas instead of hitting the brakes while parking in a handicap parking spot in front of the store, a spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff said. Her car, a Cadillac Deville, was reportedly traveling at around 40 miles per hour when it struck the shop.

Three people who were reportedly inside the store at the time sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident. The woman driving the car was not injured.

The manager of the store reportedly claimed that the car had missed a few customers in the store by just merely inches.

Pedestrian Suffering Major Injuries After Being Hit By Car Comments Off

According to news sources, a pedestrian attempting to cross Pleasant Grove Road was severely injured when he was struck by a vehicle traveling on the same road last night.

A press release put out by the California Highway Patrol claimed that the 64-year-old was crossing the road last night when he was struck by a 2010 silver colored Honda Civic car, sustaining major injuries to the head and his chest while also breaking some of his limbs.

The driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old, was driving on Pleasant Grove Road at about 5:45 p.m when the accident occurred.

A medical team arrived at the scene of the crash and successfully managed to stabilize the mans condition before he was transported to an area hospital.

The road was reportedly re-opened 40 minutes or so after the incident occurred.

Teen Suspected of DUI In Car Accident Comments Off

A young 17-year-old girl was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol when she lost control of her vehicle, rolling multiple times and injuring all those inside the car, according to news sources.

The car was traveling on Lake Herman Road at about 10:45 a.m. when it veered off the road and overturned multiple times before finally coming to a stop in the midst of opposing traffic.

A man driving a car behind the vehicle swerved to avoid impact and managed to fully stop his car before it was hit by the overturning vehicle. He was not injured.

The girl was transported to an area hospital after sustaining major injuries. Passengers in the car with her at the time of the accident were also transported to a local hospital.

The girl has not been under arrest. However charges brought against her are currently pending in the Solano County District Attorney’s office.

Teenager Crashes Stolen Car Into Deli Comments Off

A young teenager was arrested when he stole a car and drove it into a market in San Rafael while allegedly being under the influence of alcohol, according to news sources.

The teenager was driving recklessly on Highway 101 when he was reported to police. A California Highway Patrol officer responded to the call and attempted to pull over the vehicle when the teenager reportedly signaled as though he were about to stop but suddenly sped off instead.

As the CHP officer followed in pursuit the teenager evidently lost control of the vehicle and crashed it into the market. An employee inside the market was stuck in the debris until the officer and people at the scene helped set him free.

The teenager then tried to bolt and make a run for it when he was surrounded by police and apprehended once again.
