According to news sources, about nine students sustained injuries on a school bus Monday in Lake Arrowhead when a radiator hose burst, spewing liquids and fumes into the passenger cabin area.
The bus, a 1994 Thomas bus, was traveling on Highway 18 when the accident took place, a California Highway Patrol official said. The school bus was reportedly heading towards Mary Putnam Henck Intermediate School when the incident took place.
The radiator hose reportedly began spewing hot liquids or some kind of hot anti-freeze, reportedly resulting in a few minor leg burns for a few students. Other students complained about having respiratory problems and were subsequently transported to an area hospital.
The CHP is currently investigating the cause behind the mechanical failure that resulted in the radiator hose bursting.
