I-80 Pileup Causes Nightly Traffic
According to news sources, about six vehicles collided into one another on Interstate 80 Wednesday night, causing traffic congestion but seemingly no major injuries.
The accident took place south of Buchanan Street as a result of what a California Highway Patrol official termed “unsafe driving”. As a result, six vehicles collided on the roadway between both the Buchanan and Gilman Street exit ramps. The vehicles involved were a silver SUV, a pick up truck and a PT Cruiser.
One woman involved in the accident complained of neck pain, the CHP said. However, no major injuries were reported. The CHP is also reportedly investigating descriptions of a hit-and-run vehicle however there has been no confirmation.
The accident caused traffic to slow on the roadway throughout the night.
