Truck Crashes Into Dirt Bike, Injures 8-year-old Boy
According to news sources, an 8-year-old boy attempting to learn how to ride a dirt bike was seriously injured when he ended up veering out of the parking lot and crashing into a vehicle on the roadway.
The boy was learning how to ride the dirt bike in the White House Pool public parking and was being supervised by a 45-year-old man, the California Highway Patrol said.
The boy then seemingly lost control and slammed through a wooden railing before entering the roadway. He subsequently collided head-on with a pickup truck traveling westbound on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.
Upon collision, the boy was thrown off the bike and landed on the roadway near the parking entrance. He sustained major injuries in the collision and was transported to Oakland Children’s Hospital and Research Center.
The boys injuries were reportedly considered life-threatening. No other injuries or collisions were reported.
