Recall: Battat Magnetic Sketchboards Due to Choking Risks
According to news sources, about 95,000 units of the Tolouse-LapTrec magnetic sketchboards were recalled due to risks relating to the top of the magnetic pen that comes with the product being detached and posing a choking hazard.
The importer, Battat Inc., has announced the recall in cooperation with The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission due to the magnetic tip of the pen dislodging and posing a choking risk to children. The magnetic sketchboard has four animal shapes across the top, including a rabbit, dog, cat and duck. The recalled product has a white plastic surface and a plastic frame that comes in either red or brown. The model number is BX1026 (red frame) or BX1027 (brown frame) and can be found on the products wrapper.
The recalled products have been sold from March 2010 to March 2011 for a retail price of about $16.
Consumers with the recalled products should take them away from children immediately and contact the company at (866) 665-5524 for a free product replacement.
