Santa Clara Woman Seriously Injured In Crash
According to news sources, a Santa Clara woman was seriously injured in an accident Thursday that took place on Highway 101 when she exited the vehicle and was struck by a driver suspected of driving under the influence.
The 27-year-old woman exited the vehicle while on the roadway after she reportedly felt car sick and wanted to relieve her nausea. At that point, a man driving a Honda Civic allegedly under the influence crashed into a stopped vehicle on the roadway and moments later struck the woman, the California Highway Patrol said.
The woman sustained major injuries in the collision and was transported to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries, the CHP said.
