Vehicle Crashes Into Motorcycle In Fatal Collision
According to news sources, a motorcyclist was killed in an accident Friday morning when a vehicle on the roadway near Basilone Road drifted out of control and struck him.
A 23-year-old man was driving a 2003 Nissan 350Z on Interstate 5 Friday morning traveling northbound when for as of yet unknown reasons he reportedly lost control of the vehicle and sent drifting onto the road median, the California Highway Patrol said.
The incident led to the vehicle striking a 49-year-old male motorcyclist on the roadway riding a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The man was reportedly ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the roadway, sustaining fatal injuries, the CHP said.
The accident caused delays for at least half an hour and traffic congested backups on the roadway.
