Vehicle Slams Into Semi Truck on Highway 49 Comments Off

According to news sources, a woman was injured and taken to a hospital in an accident Thursday night on Highway 49 after she reportedly failed to stop in backed up traffic and ended up crashing into a semi-truck on the roadway.

The 65-year-old woman was driving a 2004 Honda Odyssey heading southbound on the roadway when the accident took place, the California Highway Patrol said. A semi-truck vehicle being driven by a 59-year-old man was reportedly attempting to turn onto Young American Mine Road when the woman failed to sufficiently slow down her vehicle and ended up crashing into the semi-truck.

The woman was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. She sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The CHP has determined that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Head-on Collision on Highway 152 Leaves Two Dead Comments Off

According to news sources, a head-on collision left two people dead Wednesday afternoon on Highway 152 after the driver of a vehicle reportedly failed to negotiate a curve and ended up colliding head-on with another vehicle on the roadway.

A 70-year-old man was driving a 2006 Toyota Camry heading eastbound on Highway 152 when he reportedly failed to negotiate a right-hand curve on the roadway, the California Highway Patrol said. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at about 65 mph when it veered towards the center median and into westbound lanes.

A Ford F-250 being driven by a 52-year-old man subsequently collided head-on with the Camry.

The driver of the Camry sustained major injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Two passengers inside the Camry at the time of the collision died in the accident.

The driver of the Ford pickup reportedly escaped the incident without injury.

Truck Overturns on Highway 101 Comments Off

According to news sources, a single-vehicle accident took place on U.S. Highway 101 when a FedEx truck went through a wire mesh fence and ended up resting on its left side.

The 40-year-old man was driving the truck traveling on highway 101 near Leavesley Road when the the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle after moving from the middle to the right lane, the California Highway Patrol said. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at speeds of about 60-65 mph at the time when it went through a wire mesh fence and landed on its side on No Name Uno.

The man was wearing a seat belt and was reportedly uninjured in the crash, the CHP said.

The CHP is investigating the accident but has determined that alcohol wad not a factor in the accident.

Three Injured on Highway 101 Crash Comments Off

According to news sources, three men sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 101 when their vehicle began veering off the roadway and overturned.

A 30-year-old man was driving a 1999 Mercedes heading southbound when the vehicle reportedly began to veer off the roadway near San Martin Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said. The incident caused the vehicle to overturn before finally coming to a stop on its roof.

The three occupants of the vehicle all sustained minor injuries in the crash. A 19-year-old passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident was transported to an area hospital for treatment after reportedly sustaining a bruise to his cheek.

The CHP is investigating the accident and has said that alcohol was not a factor.

There were no other injuries or collisions reported.
