Fatal Highway 101 Crash Leaves One Dead, One Injured

Posted on: 12-20-2011 Posted in: accident injury, car crash, personal injury

According to news sources, a fatal single vehicle accident took place Sunday night that left one man injured and a woman dead after their vehicle drifted off the roadway for unknown reasons and ended up crashing into a power pole.

The 63-year-old woman was driving a 2011 Mercedes 300 Series heading northbound on Highway 101 when the accident took place, the California Highway Patrol said. The woman reportedly lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons, causing it to drift off the roadway before hitting a berm and subsequently crashing into a power pole. The vehicle was traveling at about 60 mph when the accident took place.

The woman reportedly died at the scene of the crash. A 63-year-old passenger suffered moderate injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
