Pedestrian Fatally Struck on I-5
According to news sources, a man died in a fatal accident Thursday night when he reportedly walked in the truck route on Interstate 5 and ended up being struck by a semi-truck traveling on the roadway.
The 37-year-old man was walking along the right dirt shoulder on I-5 southbound lanes when he reportedly walking into the left lane of the the truck route, the California Highway Patrol said. The man was then struck by the left front side of an oncoming semi-truck being driven by a 42-year-old man. The collision caused the man to be thrown onto the right shoulder of the roadway.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the semi-truck was reportedly uninjured in the incident.
The mans identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
