Pedestrian Fatally Struck on I-5

Posted on: 01-23-2012 Posted in: personal injury, product liability, Product Recall

According to news sources, a man died in a fatal accident Thursday night when he reportedly walked in the truck route on Interstate 5 and ended up being struck by a semi-truck traveling on the roadway.

The 37-year-old man was walking along the right dirt shoulder on I-5 southbound lanes when he reportedly walking into the left lane of the the truck route, the California Highway Patrol said. The man was then struck by the left front side of an oncoming semi-truck being driven by a 42-year-old man. The collision caused the man to be thrown onto the right shoulder of the roadway.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the semi-truck was reportedly uninjured in the incident.

The mans identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.

As a Oakland personal injury attorney, I offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. In my line of work, I am familiar with accidents of this tragic nature.  I encourage drivers to pay attention to the road at all times. If you or someone you care about has been struck by a car and believe the conditions that caused it were the fault of another party, I encourage you to contact a car accident lawyer Oakland to help you proceed legally.
