Body Found In Car Fire Wreckage Along 10 Freeway in Pomona
Firefighters got more than they bargained for last night upon response to a burning vehicle in Pomona.
The car in question was parked along the South Campus Drive onramp to the 10 Freeway when it reportedly caught fire. The California Highway Patrol was alerted, but within minutes, the vehicle was completely ablaze.
Firefighters responded to the scene, and upon putting out the blaze, discovered something grisly: a body was inside the car. The coroner’s office, who was alerted after discovery of the body, came to the conclusion that “suspicious circumstances” played a part in the victim’s death.
A homicide investigation has thus been launched. The name of the victim has not been released and officials are still looking into what caused the fire.
There’s still a lot that’s unclear about what happened in this accident, but as a San Jose car accident lawyer, I know how quickly a car can be completely consumed by flames once it catches fire. One should always exercise proper safety precautions in a vehicle, especially when it comes to an open flame. As the inquiry into this unfortunate incident unfolds, it will be interesting to a car accident lawyer in San Jose like myself to see what investigators discover.
