Pedestrian Crossing SR-54 Freeway Fatally Struck

Posted on: 03-1-2012 Posted in: accident injury, Accident Investigation, Pedestrian Accident

According to news sources, a pedestrian was killed Thursday while crossing State Route 54 as she was reportedly struck by two vehicles traveling on the roadway.

The 23-year-old woman was reportedly crossing the freeway near Reo Drive when a 2008 Honda being driven by a 27-year-old woman struck her, the California Highway Patrol said. After being knocked to the ground, another vehicle on the roadway struck the woman once again, the CHP said.

The woman was transported to an area hospital where she was reportedly pronounced dead. There were also multiple minor crashes that took place on the roadway as a result of the incident.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the incident.

As a car accident lawyer San Francisco, I offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. In my line of work, I am familiar with accidents of this tragic nature.  I encourage drivers to pay attention to the road at all times. If you or someone you care about has been struck by a car and believe the conditions that caused it were the fault of another party, I encourage you to contact a San Francisco personal injury attorney to help you proceed legally.
