Driver in ski boots linked to 10-car collision
An accident involving ten cars was linked to a driver wearing ski boots recently in Colorado.. The accident took place in the parking lot of the Arapahoe Basin. The driver reportedly told deputies from the local sheriff’s office that his car was in reverse gear as he was backing into the parking lot when he became unable to apply the brakes or control his automobile.
According to the sheriff’s office report, the vehicle collided with eight cars in the parking lot and finally stopped after an impact with a Toyota Four Runner. The force of the impact pushed the Toyota into another vehicle, according to the report. A sheriff’s deputy tested the brakes of the ski boot wearing driver’s vehicle and found them to be functioning suitably. One driver of a vehicle involved in the collision told sheriff’s deputies that she did not see the vehicle’s brake lights flashing. The driver wearing the ski boot received a citation for careless driving from the sheriff’s deputies on the scene.
