Vehicle collides with pole, nearby homes lose power
A recent single vehicle collision affected many people not directly involved with the accident when a damaged power pole required the local electric company to shut off the power to some of its customers homes near the scene of the accident.
An automobile collided with a Pacific Gas and Electric Company power pole at the intersection of State Route 255 and Jackson Ranch Road outside of Manila recently. The collision fractured the power pole, causing it to break in half and lean against a nearby pole. The driver of the automobile was trapped inside of her vehicle, according to rescue workers. The collision occurred, according to the accident report provided by the California Highway Patrol, after the female driver lost control of the vehicle on the rain soaked road and went off the road. The vehicle came to a stop after colliding with the power pole. Rescue workers responding to the incident extracted the woman from her vehicle, and began to clear the road. In order to repair the power pole, Pacific Gas and Electric Company was required to shut off some of its customers’ power temporarily. The accident occurred in the morning, and as of yet it is unclear whether the woman involved sustained any injuries in the collision.
