Single Vehicle Crash in Greenfield Injures Two and Kills One
Yet another single vehicle accident claimed a life and sent others to the hospital with potentially life threatening injuries.
This time, an area just south of Greenfield was the site of the fatal crash. According to the California Highway Patrol, an unidentified vehicle was heading north down the 101 Freeway just before 5 o’clock in the afternoon yesterday with three occupants inside the automobile. For some reason, the vehicle careened off an embankment along a local offramp and crashed to the ground below. It landed on Underwood Road, which runs along the highway in that vicinity.
Officials with the Greenfield Fire Department and Calfire responded to the crash. One of the persons in the vehicle sustained fatal injuries, and the other two occupants required immediate assistance. The highway was closed at Lagomarsino Avenue so that helicopters could be allowed to land on the 101. The two surviving passengers were airlifted to a nearby hospital to receive treatments for their injuries. The highway was reopened 30 minutes later.
There is as yet no word on the condition of the two people that were airlifted away from the automobile accident.
As a car accident lawyer in Oakland, my heart goes out to the family of the victim of this tragic crash. I’m sorry to see three lives affected by one single vehicle crash, and I wish the other two occupants the best of luck with their recovery. And as an Oakland personal injury attorney, I hope all drivers can stay safe on the roads.
