Jetta Careens Off Road in Injurious Lakeport Crash
California roads witnessed yet another single vehicle crash that sent the driver of the automobile to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
This time, the event took place in the city of Lakeport in Lake County. A Volkswagen Jetta was traveling in an undisclosed direction down the 29 Freeway just after 11 o’clock at night on Wednesday. At some point on the driver’s commute, the vehicle, which officers from the California Highway Patrol say was going the speed limit, drifted off the road in the area just north of Mockingbird Lane.
After careening off the highway, the Jetta rumbled along and crashed into a fence in the area. No word on what kind of damage was done to the vehicle or property, but the driver, who was the only occupant, incurred a bloody nose and cuts to her face. The Upper Lake Fire Protection District arrived on the scene to assist the woman. She was taken to nearby Sutter Lakeside Hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.
The CHP is in the process of investigating the crash.
As a San Francisco personal injury lawyer, I hope that the driver’s injuries turn out to be minor. I’ve seen too many single vehicle crashes in my time as a car accident attorney in San Francisco that ended in tragedy for the automobile’s occupants. I can only keep my fingers crossed that this incident does not prove as tragic.
