Costco Exclusive Cookware Recalled Due to Laceration Threat
A Circulon Cookware Set manufactured by the Meyer Corporation has been recalled. 4,600 units of the Vallejo, California-based company’s product have been recalled due to the potential for an 11-inch glass lid contained within the set to break, crack or shatter and cause laceration injuries to users. The set includes 13 pieces and has one, three, four, and eight quart saucepans, a four quart saucepot, an eight quart stockpot, and eight and a half, ten and twelve inch skillets. The lid in question, which has IMCP1108 stamped on the rim, goes atop a five quart saute pan.
No injuries from the cookware, which was imported from Thailand and China, have come to the notice of the company. However, there has been a reported 65 separate instances in which the lid broke or shattered completely.
The set was sold through Costco stores, and the lid could not have been purchased individually. The entire set ran the consumer around $200 when it was on sale between this past October and March. Customers are urged to contact Circulon at their customer service number for replacements of the 11-inch wide saucepan lid. Until such time that they can be replaced, users are being advised to abstain from using the lid in any way.
