Iowa drivers challenged to hang up phones by state’s DOT
The Iowa Department of Transportation has issued a challenge to drivers: Put away the cell phone for 7 days while driving. This challenge has been issued in response to the number of accidents and fatalities occurring because of distracted drivers, especially those who text while operating a motor vehicle. Researchers studied 1,700 drivers and concluded that three out of four drivers exhibited signs of distracted driving.
