County legislators won’t turn bookmobile into emergency vehicle
Franklin County legislators voted not to use a former bookmobile as an emergency vehicle after several weeks of debate. The Public Safety Committee Chairman considered transforming a bookmobile the county legislation allocated funds to purchase in 2006 for the Clinton-Essex-Franklin Library System into an emergency mobile command and communication center, but legislators voted against taking the truck due to the anticipated expense of converting it into an emergency vehicle.
