New York City official urges cyclists to watch out for pedestrians
After a blind triathlete was struck and injured by a bicyclist while training for the New York City Marathon, the chairman of the New York City Council’s Committee on Transportation is urging cyclists to obey the city’s traffic laws to ensure pedestrian safety. Bicycle riders in New York City are required to keep off the sidewalks, ride with the flow of traffic, stop at red lights, and equip their vehicles with warning bells.
