Suspect Arrested After Stealing Park Ranger SUV 2

According to news sources, a suspect was reportedly arrested Monday when he was stopped by rangers after allegedly driving a stolen vehicle.

The incident took place in north Los Angeles when rangers at the Hungry Valley State Park attempted to arrest the suspect in a traffic stop after discovering that the vehicle he was driving matched a stolen vehicle, the California Highway Patrol said.

A woman in the vehicle was reportedly handcuffed and left in the park ranger SUV when a second suspect somehow jumped into the vehicle and sped off.

There were shots reportedly fired as the suspect allegedly attempted to strike a ranger.

The vehicle then stopped on the freeway after sideswiping other vehicles on the roadway. CHP officers approached the vehicle and apprehended the handcuffed woman. The man was injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.

There were no other injuries or collisions reported.

Driver Arrested After Stealing Vehicle 1

According to news sources, a man was arrested Friday night while driving a vehicle that had been stolen a day earlier. Authorities spotted the vehicle due to the drivers reportedly erratic and reckless driving on the roadway.

The 25-year-old man was allegedly driving a stolen 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier on Foothill Boulevard and Cornishon Avenue, according to authorities. The vehicle had been reported stolen the day before by the California Highway Patrol.

The man was reportedly driving recklessly, failing to stop at a red light and subsequently traveling on the wrong side of the road. The man was spotted by deputies, who ran the license plate and discovered that the vehicle matched the reported stolen vehicle.

The man was arrested by officials and booked into Crescenta Valley Station.

There were no injuries or collisions reported.

Three Injured In DUI Suspected Accident 4

According to news sources, a teenager was arrested Sunday after allegedly driving under the influence and driving through a stop light. The incident resulted in a two-vehicle collision that left three people injured.

The 19-year-old teenager was allegedly driving under the influence, traveling southbound on Zediker Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said. The teenage driver then proceeded to drive through a stop sign when an oncoming truck traveling eastbound struck the vehicle on the passengers side.

A passenger inside the vehicle at the time of the collision sustained major injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The teenage driver was treated for minor injuries and subsequently released to be taken into custody. The driver of the truck sustained minor injures.

The CHP is investigating the crash. No other injuries or collisions were reported.

Woman Dies After Being Struck By Teenager on Roadway 2

According to news sources, a woman reportedly walking on the roadway Sunday night was killed in an accident when vehicle being driven by a teenager struck her.

The 16-year-old teenager was driving a 2004 GMC Yukon XL northbound on Silverado Trail at night when he struck the woman, the California Highway Patrol said. The woman was reportedly dressed in dark clothing and landed about 60 feet away from the point of impact.

The driver of the vehicle then proceeded to stop oncoming traffic from hitting the woman in an attempt to help her. She sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The teenage driver was reportedly uninjured in the crash. The woman’s identity is being withheld pending notification of her next of kin.

Teenager Arrested For Grand Theft Auto 4

According to news sources, a teenager was arrested Saturday night after carjacking a vehicle and reportedly crashing on the roadway. The teenager was later found in a nearby field hiding under a tree.

The incident took place when the 18-year-old teenager pulled out a handgun and car-jacked a vehicle being driven by a 20-year-old woman while she was reportedly attempting to park her car, the California Highway Patrol said.

The man then crashed the vehicle on Highway 80 and CHP officers on the scene determined that the crashed vehicle was the reported stolen car. The CHP then utilized a helicopter and a canine unit to locate the suspect, who was hiding under a tree in a field near the crashed vehicle.

The man was then taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash.

Fatal Oasis Accident Leaves One Dead, Four Injured 4

According to news sources, one person was dead and another four injured in an accident Friday morning when a vehicle reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign in Oasis.

The accident took place on Highway 86 Expressway when a man driving a van traveling on the roadway failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a Honda Civic traveling northbound, the California Highway Patrol said.

The incident led to the death of a passenger in the van, while the driver reportedly sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Honda, along with two other passengers in the van sustained moderate-major injuries and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

The CHP is currently investigating the cause of the crash.

Two Teens Dead In Suspected DUI Crash 4

According to news sources, two teenagers were killed in an accident that took place Saturday night near Commerce Center Drive when the vehicle they were in veered off the roadway and landed on a hillside.

The accident took place on Hasley Canyon Road when he a 28-year-old man driving a 1999 Ford Escort lost control of the vehicle on the roadway, the California Highway Patrol said. The roadway was reportedly slick at the time due to rainfall, the CHP said.

The vehicle exited the roadway and went through a wooden fence, crashed into a tree and subsequently landed on the hillside.

The CHP suspects that the driver of the vehicle to have been allegedly drinking and driving. Two teenage passengers sitting in the back seat of the vehicle were reportedly pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Fiery Big Rig Accident Leaves Two Dead 1

According to news sources, two people were killed in an accident Saturday night when their vehicle reportedly failed to stop at an intersection and was subsequently struck by a big rig. The incident caused the big rig to be set ablaze due to the collision.

The accident took place when a big rig truck traveling northbound on Grapefruit Boulevard crashed into a Hyundai traveling eastbound on Avenue 62,  the California Highway Patrol said. Witnesses at the scene of the crash told authorities that the Hyundai reportedly failed to make a complete stop prior to entering the intersection. As a result, the big rig truck struck the passengers side of the vehicle, resulting in a fiery blaze that consumed the big rig truck.

Two people inside the Hyundai were killed at the scene of the crash, the CHP said. The driver of the big rig escaped the incident without injury.

One Dead, Two Seriously Injured In Solo-Accident 5

According to news sources, one woman was killed and two people seriously injured in an accident Saturday night when the driver reportedly lost control of a vehicle due to falling asleep behind the wheel.

The man was traveling on Interstate 5 north of Merced Avenue when the accident took place. The man reportedly allowed the vehicle to drift towards the center median after falling asleep behind the wheel, the California Highway Patrol said. The incident reportedly woke the man up and resulted in him over-correcting and the vehicle exiting the roadway after flipping over.

A 21-year-old woman was killed in the accident after being ejected from the vehicle. Another 21-year-old woman was reportedly seriously injured in the crash while the driver sustained moderate injuries.

Ortega Highway Accident Leaves One Dead, One Injured 6

According to news sources, a woman was killed and man seriously injured in a car crash Friday morning on Ortega Highway after their vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a tree. The man, who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.

The 18-year-old male driver was traveling westbound on Ortega Highway in a Ford F-150 when the accident took place. He vehicle veered off the roadway towards the right hand shoulder before crashing into the tree.

The 45-year-old woman passenger in the vehicle was killed after sustaining fatal injuries in the crash. The driver sustained major injuries and was transported to Mission Hospital and subsequently arrested, the California Highway Patrol said.

There were no other injuries or collisions associated with the accident.
