According to news sources, a man was killed and another man sent to the hospital in an accident Wednesday on Highway 101 caused when a vehicle clipped another vehicle on the roadway, causing both vehicles to exit the roadway and one of them to overturn multiple times.
A 55-year-old man was driving a Lexus SUV traveling southbound on Highway 101 when his vehicle was clipped by another vehicle traveling on the roadway, the California Highway Patrol said. The incident caused the Lexus to exit the roadway and overturn several times before finally coming to rest on its roof. The driver of the other vehicle, a 65-year-old man, lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons when it drifted across lanes and clipped the Lexus.
The driver of the SUV was pinned inside the vehicle and reportedly died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle involved was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
