According to news sources, a man was rescued this Sunday from a burning vehicle by a California Highway Patrol officer on Del Lago Boulevard.
The 26-year-old man was driving a Nissan 240SX on the roadway when he seemed to have lost control of the vehicle. Witnesses say the man was reportedly swerving through traffic erratically before jumping a curb and colliding with a light post, a CHP officer said.
A CHP officer then reportedly climbed into the vehicles passenger seat as smoke started to develop in an attempt to free the man. The driver was reportedly in the middle of a seizure. As the vehicle began to catch on fire, the officer managed to drag the man out of the vehicle. Moments later the vehicle was engulfed in flames.
The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
