Woman Collides With Utility Pole In Solo Crash Comments Off

According to news sources, a woman was injured in a solo accident Saturday on Indian Springs Road when she reportedly veered off the roadway before colliding with a utility pole and severing the lines as a result.

The 22-year-old woman was driving a Jeep and heading northbound on the roadway when she reportedly drifted off the roadway, the California Highway Patrol said. The woman’s vehicle ended up crashing into a utility pole before going through a fence and finally coming to a stop.

The woman was transported to an area hospital after sustaining moderate injuries in the crash. The CHP arrested the woman on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The downed lines ended up reportedly causing the closure of the roadway for several hours until the area was cleared.

DUI Suspect Collides With Tree In Fatal Fremont Crash Comments Off

According to news sources, a man suspected of driving under the influence was arrested Saturday after reportedly crashing the minivan he was driving into a tree after exiting the roadway, resulting in his passenger being killed in the incident.

The 55-year-old man was driving a 2007 Dodge Caravan heading northbound on Interstate 680 when he reportedly began driving the vehicle on the center median, the California Highway Patrol said. The man was reportedly traveling at about 90 mph when the vehicle suddenly swerved into traffic, hitting two vehicles before veering off the roadway and smashing into two trees. The impact reportedly tore the vehicle in half, leaving the passenger dead at the scene of the crash as a result of the collision.

The driver was later arrested and booked into a county jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, the CHP said.

DUI Suspect Injured In County Road Solo Crash Comments Off

According to news sources, a man suspected of driving under the influence Thursday sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle crash on County Road 28 after losing control of the vehicle he was driving.

The 22-year-old man was driving a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer heading westbound on County Road 28 when the incident took place, the California Highway Patrol said. The man lost control of the vehicle while reportedly traveling at high speeds, causing it to crash into a power pole before overturning and coming to rest inside an orchard by the roadway.

The man sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was taken to an Enloe Medical Center in Chico for treatment.

The man was reportedly restrained when the crash took place, the CHP said.

Woodland Offramp Crash Leaves One Dead, Three Injured Comments Off

According to news sources, one man was killed and three others injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle they were in, causing it to overturn several times before coming to a stop on its roof.

The 22-year-old man was driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse heading southbound on Interstate 5 when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, the California Highway Patrol said. The incident resulted in the vehicle overturning several times, with three of the passengers being ejected in the process. They were reportedly not wearing seat belts at the time.

The driver was restrained when the incident took place and ended up sustaining minor injuries.  He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

One passenger died at the scene, while two others sustained major injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Fatal Head-on Collision In Arcata Leaves One Dead Comments Off

According to news sources, a woman reportedly suspected of driving under the influence died in an accident Wednesday morning when the vehicle she was driving drifted across lanes and into oncoming traffic where it collided head-on with another vehicle.

The 54-year-old woman was driving a 1987 Honda Civic heading southbound on Highway 101 when she reportedly veered towards northbound lanes, the California Highway Patrol said. The incident resulted in the Civic colliding head-on with a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am that was reportedly traveling at speeds of about 55 mph at the time.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Pontiac sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The CHP believes that alcohol was a factor in the accident.

A 29-year-old passenger in the vehicle at the time died at the scene.

The 44-year-old man was riding a Vespa scooter heading southbound of Gird Road when he reportedly turned across another vehicles pathway, the California Highway Patrol said. The man may have been riding the scooter without headlights at the time, a CHP officer said.

The man reportedly crashed into the front corner of a Honda Civic, causing him to be ejected from the scooter.

A part of the mans left leg was reportedly severed in the incident. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment and placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver of the Civic escaped without injury.

The downed wires subsequently snagged an oncoming big rig traveling on the roadway, bringing down an additional six poles onto the roadway.

The incident caused the closure of the roadway for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck was reportedly weaving in and out of traffic before the collision took place, the CHP said.

Man Arrested After Crashing Into Sutter Deputy’s Car Comments Off

According to news sources, one man was arrested Saturday after allegedly driving under the influence and failing to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle he was driving to overturn and crash into a Sutter County deputy’s car in Live Oak.

The 25-year-old man was driving a vehicle heading towards the 10000 block of Orchard Way when the collision took place, the California Highway Patrol said. The man reportedly failed to negotiate a curve on the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times before colliding with the deputy’s car, the CHP said.

The deputy – who was doing a routine patrol of the area at the time – managed to escape the collision uninjured.

The CHP is currently investigating the crash.

The man was arrested and booked into a county jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.
