DUI Suspect Crashes Into Stopped Vehicle on I-5 Comments Off

According to news sources, a man suspected of driving under the influence Monday morning was arrested after reportedly crashing into a stopped vehicle on Interstate 5.

The 41-year-old man was driving a vehicle heading northbound on the freeway when the accident took place, a California Highway Patrol officer said. The man reportedly collided with a Chevrolet Malibu that was stopped on the right side shoulder of the freeway. The impact from the collisions caused the Malibu to overturn several times before coming to a stop, the CHP said.

The driver of the Malibu sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The man was then arrested and booked into a county jail on suspicion of drunken driving, the CHP said.

Fatal Collision on I-15 In Fallbrook Comments Off

According to news sources, a fatal two-vehicle collision Sunday morning left one person dead and another injured near Old Highway 295 when a vehicle collided with another overturned vehicle on the roadway.

A 25-year-old man was driving a 1999 Isuzu Trooper traveling southbound on Interstate 15 when the accident took place, the California Highway Patrol said.

The incident occurred when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer towards the dirt median before the driver overcompensated and caused the vehicle to overturn several times on the roadway. A Toyota Tundra being driven by a 41-year-old man on the roadway at the same time reportedly ended up crashing into the overturned vehicle, the CHP said.

The driver of the Trooper died in the collision.

The CHP is currently investigating the crash and says that alcohol may have been a factor.

Single-Vehicle Collision Leads To DUI Arrest Comments Off

According to news sources, a single-vehicle accident that took place Wednesday morning led to the arrest of three men on alcohol-related charges, including the driver who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

A 28-year-old man was driving a 1994 Honda Accord heading northbound on Highway 29 when the accident took place, the California Highway Patrol said. The driver was traveling at an unknown speed when the vehicle reportedly began to veer off the roadway. The vehicle ended up rolling over multiple times as a result.

Two-Vehicle Collision Near Lake Elsinore Comments Off

According to news sources, a two-vehicle head-on collision took place Wednesday morning when a man suspected of driving under the influence reportedly drifted across lanes and collided head-on with a vehicle being driven by an off-duty sheriff in El Cariso Village.

A 66-year-old man was driving a 2010 Toyota Prius heading westbound on Ortega (74) Highway when the accident took place, the California Highway Patrol. The man was reportedly weaving in and out of traffic prior to drifting into opposing lanes and colliding head-on with a Honda Civic. The Civic was being driven by an off-duty sheriff and traveling at about 35 mph at the time.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The CHP said that they will be reportedly pursuing driving under the influence charges against the driver.

Man Leads Deputies On High Speed Pursuit Comments Off

According to news sources, a man was arrested after leading deputies on a dangerous high speed pursuit Tuesday through the High Desert in a reportedly stolen vehicle.

The 30-year-old man was driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Chino that same morning when deputies attempted to pull him over in near Fresno Street in Hesperia. The man reportedly sped off instead, leading deputies on a dangerous high speed pursuit that took them through Adelanto and Victorville. The man reportedly ran through multiple traffic lights and stop signs during the pursuit.

Authorities deployed spike strips to immobilize the vehicle but were reportedly unsuccessful in their attempt. The man was then caught and arrested near Palmdale Road. He was subsequently booked into a county jail for suspicion of felony evading and driving a stolen vehicle.

DUI Suspect Collides Head-On With Vehicle Comments Off

According to news sources, a fatal head-on collision took place Saturday morning on Hall Road when a teenager suspected of driving under the influence crossed the double yellow lines and crashed head-on with a vehicle in the opposite lane.

The incident took place near Elkhorn Road when an 18-year-old teenage driver suspected of driving under the influence reportedly crossed the double yellow lines on the roadway and collided with another vehicle traveling in opposite traffic, the California Highway Patrol said.

The collision resulted in the 42-year-old driver of the other vehicle involved to be reportedly pinned inside the wreckage. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, the CHP said. A passenger in the same vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The teenage driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, the CHP said.

DUI Suspect Injures Five People In Crash Comments Off

According to news sources, a man suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol Thursday collided into a group of people assisting a driver with a flat tire on the roadway, sending a total of five people to the hospital as a result.

The incident took place on the Interstate 110 when a driver pulled over to help another driver on the roadway with a flat tire, the California Highway Patrol said. A group of three were standing on the freeway next to the stopped car when another group of three riding in an SUV pulled over to assist with the flat tire.

A vehicle being driven by a man suspected of drinking and driving then crashed into the group on the roadway. In all, five people were transported to area hospitals for treatment, with two in reportedly critical conditions.

The DUI suspect was arrested. The CHP is currently investigating the crash.

DUI Suspect Crashes Into Patrol Vehicle Comments Off

According to news sources, two Gardena police officers were injured and taken to the hospital in an accident Thursday reportedly caused by an allegedly drunk driver.

The incident took place as the two officers conducting traffic control on Vermont Avenue were inside a patrol car while a third officer stood outside near the vehicle. The patrol car had the lights flashing when a minivan heading southbound on the roadway reportedly came crashing into the vehicle. The officer outside reportedly jumped to safety as the incident occurred.

The 33-year-old driver of the minivan was reportedly driving under the influence and was arrested and booked by California Highway Patrol officers.

The two officers inside the patrol car were transported to an area hospital. Their injuries have been described as non-life threatening.

The man was injured in the collision and was transported to UCSD Medical Center for treatment. His injuries have been described as non-life threatening.
