Woman Suspected of DUI Crashed Into Motorcycle Comments Off

According to news sources, a woman suspected of driving under the influence was arrested after crashing her SUV into a motorcyclist traveling in opposing traffic.

The 40-year-old Mariposa woman was driving a 2008 Hyundai SUV on Highway 140 when she reportedly allowed the vehicle to drift across the double yellow lines towards the eastbound lane, the California Highway Patrol said. A 64-year-old motorcyclist was struck by the vehicle and was ejected from his motorcycle. The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash after sustaining fatal injuries.

The woman escaped without injury and was subsequently booked into a county jail. A 9-year-old girl reportedly inside the SUV at the time of the accident was also uninjured in the accident.

Motorcyclist Dies After Attempting to Avoid Collision Comments Off

According to news sources, a motorcyclist attempting to avoid collision was able to swerve his motorcycle and prevent colliding into any vehicles on the roadway but was killed after being ejected from his motorcycle.

The accident took place Saturday on Highway 70 when the 69-year-old motorcyclist reportedly failed to notice stopped traffic on the highway. The man subsequently attempted to avoid collision and was ejected as he swerved the motorcycle. He sustained fatal injuries in the crash and reportedly died at the scene of the crash.

A California Highway Patrol spokesperson said that the man was reportedly traveling at about 55 mph when the incident occurred.

No other injuries or collisions were reported. The CHP is currently investigating the crash.

Motorcyclist Crashes Into Big Rig on Freeway Comments Off

According to news sources, a man was killed Saturday in a fatal accident after rear-ending a big rig truck and another vehicle on the San Diego Freeway.

The incident took place on the northbound lanes of the freeway close to Sunset Boulevard. The man was reportedly attempting to maneuver his motorcycle in a tight space between the third and fourth lanes on the roadway when the accident took place, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The 39-year-old Newhall man was traveling between 20 to 25 mph when he collided with the big rig. Subsequently, the man rear-ended a Toyota Corolla.

The CHP closed off lanes of the accident area of the freeway for several hours. The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The motorcyclist’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.

Motorcyclists Injured In Accident Comments Off

According to news sources, two motorcyclists injured while traveling with group on roadway when they attempt to cross the double yellow line to pass a truck.

A 45-year-old motorcyclist sustained head injuries and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after colliding with a 57-year-old fellow motorcyclist as they both attempted to pass a truck on the roadway against the double yellow line, the California Highway Patrol said.

Both men were attempting to avoid collision with the oncoming truck when they collided into one each other. They were both thrown onto the roadway and one of the motorcycles slide onto the pathway of the oncoming truck. The 45-year-old man was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment while his fellow motorcycle rider was reportedly uninjured in the accident.

The CHP said that alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the collision.

Serious Injury Motorcycle Accident on Highway 154 Comments Off

According to news sources, a motorcyclist sustained major injuries when he crashed into a vehicle on the roadway Thursday afternoon after he apparently lost control of the motorcycle on Highway 154.

The accident caused a blockage on the roadway Thursday afternoon.

The 44-year-old motorcyclist lost control while negotiating a curve and was ejected from his motorcycle as a result. Upon being ejected from the motorcycle the man reportedly collided with a tree. The man sustained major injuries in the accident and was subsequently transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The CHP is currently investigating the cause of the crash. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time and no other injuries or collisions have been reported.

Fatal Collision Kills Hells Angels Biker In San Leandro Comments Off

According to news sources, a Hells Angels biker was killed in an apparent homicide after a bus driver reportedly rammed into him on I-580 and dragged him for about a mile.

The man was reportedly traveling with a group of Hell’s Angels members on I-580 when the accident took place, the California Highway Patrol said. A East Bay Paratransit bus driver then allegedly rammed into the biker, a CHP official said. The man was dragged for about a mile under the bus before being released. His motorcycle continued to be dragged by the bus until it reached close to the 150th Avenue on-ramp.

The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment where he was pronounced dead.

No other injuries or collisions were reported in the crash.

Motorcyclist Crashes Into Vintage Fire Truck Comments Off

According to news sources, a motorcyclist crashed into the rear of a vintage fire truck on South Bonnyview Road Tuesday morning as firefighters were hauling it out of the station.

The accident took place on South Bonnyview Road in front of a fire station when a motorcyclist collided with a vintage fire truck in the eastbound lanes. The California Highway Patrol is still currently investigating the cause behind the accident.

The fire truck was being pulled by firefighters out of the station when the motorcyclist collided into it from the rear-end, the CHP said.

The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. The extent of the injuries sustained by the motorcycle rider are as of yet unknown.

The CHP has reopened the road.

Motorcyclist Killed After Colliding With Stray Ladders on Roadway Comments Off

According to news sources, a motorcyclist was killed in an accident on Highway 101 when he apparently struck a couple of ladders that appeared to have had fallen onto the freeway and partially blocking two lanes.

The 28-year-old man was riding a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle traveling southbound when the accident occurred after he struck a couple of ladders partially blocking two lanes on the roadway, the California Highway Patrol said.

The man was fatally injured in the crash upon being ejected from the motorcycle and reportedly landing about two lanes away from the point of impact.

The ladder were made of fiberglass and it is yet to be known how they ended up on the freeway.

Motorcyclist Sustains Major Injuries In Crash Comments Off

According to news sources, a motorcyclist was severely injured Tuesday in an accident on Interstate 5 after he rear-ended another vehicle traveling on the roadway.

The 39-year old man was traveling southbound on I-5 when the accident took place. He was riding a 1997 Harley Davidson and was reportedly traveling at high speeds, the California Highway Patrol said.

The motorcyclist then proceeded to rear-end a 1997 Nissan Maxima that according to the CHP was traveling at about 74 mph when it was struck by the motorcycle. The man was ejected from motorcycle and landed on the left-hand lane of the roadway.

He sustained major injuries in the crash and was transported to a hospital for treatment. He was reportedly wearing a full-face helmet when the accident occurred.

No other injuries have been reported as a result of the collision.

Motorcyclist Crashes Into Deer In San Mateo County Comments Off

According to news sources, a motorcyclist and a deer were killed Monday night when the rider struck the deer on a roadway near Pescadero.

The motorcyclist was traveling just east of Highway 1 on Highway 84 when the accident too place. California Highway Patrol officers found the motorcycle located about 80 feet down a ravine and the dead deer on the roadway.

The CHP said that the man was airlifted to Stanford Hospital. He reportedly either died en route to the medical facility or shortly upon arriving. The victims identity was being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

The accident caused the closure of the roadway for several hours. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
